Terms of Use
MealRecap, a product of Matrix Software Solutions.
1) MealRecap
MealRecap is a product of Matrix Software Solutions. These terms govern your use of the MealRecap service: the text-message interface, the MealRecap web pages, meal logging and correction, reports, Avery, sharing, and subscription management.
2) Eligibility and your account
You hold your MealRecap account as an individual and are responsible for it. There is no company account and no administrator who manages it for you.
Still to be decided: the minimum age for a MealRecap account.
3) Signing in
You sign in with your mobile number. We send one automated verification text to confirm you control that number, and your browser then holds a session. Keep access to your number and your device secure — anyone who has both can reach your account.
4) Subscription and billing
MealRecap is a paid monthly subscription. Before you pay, you will be shown the price, the amount due at that moment, the renewal date, and the cancellation terms. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
Still to be decided: the price, any refund policy, and tax treatment.
5) Payment handling
Card details are entered directly into CardPointe's hosted payment interface. MealRecap receives a token and processor references; it does not receive or store your full card number.
6) Cancellation and access after cancelling
You may cancel your subscription. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access in the browser until that paid-through date.
7) Text messages: STOP, START, and what each one does
MealRecap is largely a text-message service, so it matters exactly what stopping texts does. There are three separate permissions, and they are not the same thing:
- Verification. One automated text confirming you control your number. Signing in does not enroll you in anything else.
- Operational service messages. Setup, meal-log responses, clarification questions, account and security notices, and report notifications. You agree to these when you activate a paid subscription, because they are how the service is delivered.
- Marketing. Optional, off unless you turn it on, and never a condition of purchase.
Replying STOP:
- stops MealRecap texts immediately;
- schedules your subscription to end at the end of the period you have already paid for;
- leaves your browser access working until that paid-through date;
- does not delete your account, your meal history, or your reports.
Replying START resumes the messages you have permitted. It does not restart recurring billing on its own — if your subscription has already ended, you would need to resubscribe deliberately.
A single STOP reaches every kind of text. It is not able to stop marketing while leaving operational messages running: the two permissions are recorded separately, but the opt-out keyword is one keyword. To decline marketing while continuing to use a text-based service, turn marketing off in Settings rather than replying STOP.
Because MealRecap works primarily over text, stopping texts will materially affect what the service can do for you, even while your browser access continues.
8) Optional marketing
MealRecap may offer optional marketing messages. These require your separate affirmative consent, recorded independently of your subscription. Consent is not a condition of purchase, refusing has no effect on anything else in the product, and you may withdraw it at any time in Settings.
9) What you put into MealRecap
Your meal descriptions, corrections, photographs, goals and profile notes remain yours. You grant MealRecap the permission needed to store, process and display them back to you, and to show them to anyone you choose to share a report with.
You are responsible for what you upload, including having the right to upload any photograph containing someone else.
10) Nutrition figures are estimates
MealRecap produces estimates from what you describe or photograph, matched against reference data including USDA FoodData Central. They are estimates, not measurements. MealRecap does not guarantee that a food, a portion or a nutrient value is correct, and does not claim to understand every photograph. Where a value is uncertain it is shown as a range or marked unknown rather than presented as precise.
11) Avery
Avery is an AI guide within MealRecap. Avery is not a dietitian, a doctor, a therapist, or an emergency service, and does not provide medical advice.
12) General wellness only
MealRecap is a general wellness and organisation tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
13) Your decisions and your medical care
Decisions you make about what you eat are yours. Do not use MealRecap in place of advice from a qualified professional, and do not delay seeking care because of something MealRecap or Avery showed you. If you may be having a medical emergency, contact emergency services.
14) Corrections and reports
You can correct an entry after the fact. Corrections keep the earlier version as history rather than overwriting it, and your reports reflect your entries as they currently stand.
15) Sharing a report
You may grant read-only access to your Day, Week, Month or All report views. Access expires automatically 90 days after the recipient first opens it, and you may revoke, resend or reactivate it at any time.
A recipient can read the report you shared and nothing else — not your Settings, your billing, your photos, or your entries. What a recipient does with what they see is their responsibility, and you should share only with people you intend to have that information.
16) Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to allow others to:
- use MealRecap unlawfully, or to harass or deceive anyone;
- attempt to reach another person's account, report, photographs or share links;
- probe or bypass security, scrape the service, or automate access to it;
- upload malicious content, or overload the service;
- resell or sublicense the service.
17) Intellectual property
MealRecap, the software behind it, and its designs and content belong to Matrix Software Solutions or its licensors. You get the limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription. Your own content stays yours.
18) Suspension and termination
We may suspend or limit access where there is a security risk, non-payment, or a material breach of these terms. You may stop using MealRecap at any time by cancelling.
19) Availability and disclaimers
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned maintenance and unforeseen outages happen, and features may change. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
20) Liability, indemnity, disputes and governing law
Still to be decided. The limitation of liability, any liability cap, indemnity terms, dispute resolution, whether arbitration applies, and the governing jurisdiction are not settled and are not stated here. Wording will be added once owner and legal review is complete; nothing is asserted in the meantime.
21) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Where a change is material we will give reasonable notice, and your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
22) Contact
MealRecap, a product of Matrix Software Solutions.
Still to be decided: the contact destination for MealRecap. No support address or telephone number is published here yet, because the one this product should use has not been approved.
